GOD HAS DEPOSITED HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS INTO YOUR ACCOUNT

“The Lord has laid on Him [Jesus] the iniquity of us all.” Isa 53:6 NKJV

You may have times when you’re so disappointed in yourself that you wonder how God could still love you. That’s when you need to remind yourself that God has de- posited His righteousness into your account: “God made him [Jesus] who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2Co 5:21 NIV). Every bad thing you have ever done (sins of commission) and every good thing you chose not to do (sins of omission), Christ paid for. He took on your sin so you could take on His righteousness. He took on Himself God’s wrath that you deserved so you could receive God’s grace that none of us deserves. Suppose you overextended yourself on your credit card and could not pay when the bill arrived. You opened the envelope, only to find out someone else has paid off your debt and even deposited an amount from which you could draw in the future. This is what happens when God responds to your faith in the finished work of Christ by imputing His own righteousness to your salvation account. We all owed a debt for our sins that we could not pay. Jesus, who never sinned, went to the cross, took our sin in His own body, and paid for us the debt He did not owe.“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Ro10:9 NKJV). Are you worrying about your salvation? Stop worrying and start trusting!
